Bad Air
Bad Air Traffic traffic traffic. If you have arranged to meet or do anything in Manila. It has a set time to happen- GOOD LUCK. The traffic situation in Manila is horrific with the roads never moving for hours on end. The city has become impossible to transport yourself around.
The local bylaws try to enforce that certain registration numbers cannot travel on a certain day. This does nothing at all. Those with money use another car, those without are still stuck in the polluted public transport vehicles. Breathing in pollution that you can taste at the back of your throat.
THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Will implement stricter monitoring and assessment of air quality in the country. Specifically in Metro Manila, amid the record high car sales in recent years.
Environment
Secretary Ramon Paje said that motor vehicles have the potential to contribute to ambient air pollution.
“The increase in purchasing vehicles is one of the reasons why we have to become stricter in monitoring the air quality and the smoke emissions,” he said.
In 2015, the Philippine automotive industry posted total vehicle sales of 323,928 units, the highest ever in cumulative local sales surpassing the previous record from 2014 at 269,841.
Paje noted that 70 to 80 percent of air pollution in Metro Manila still comes from vehicle emissions.
He said the DENR, through its Environmental Management Bureau, had successfully installed air quality monitoring stations in each of the 17 local government units in Metro Manila.
The vehicles are in very poor condition and the ability to plan Manila and transport hubs has never happened, so chaos is the only plan in action. The trains and MRT are falling apart and very dangerous and the safety concerns of overcrowding are ignored.
Lack of planning, corruption and the elite not being interested in the average man. Have left Manila one of the worst places in the world for pollution and traffic horrors.
